To really make your precious boxes of puffed pastry last, try using cookie cutters to slice it into shapes and topping on a few quick recipes. From pot pies to strawberry shortcake, here are some clever ways to use puffed pastry to dress up your favorite meals.
SNAPPY APPETIZERS. Cut puffed pastry into your favorite shapes, bake, then top with a soft cheese spread (like Alouette) and a few cucumber slices to make pretty appetizers that everyone will love.
CHEESE BITES. Use cookie cutters to cut puffed pastry into bite-sized pieces, top with a smidgen of cream cheese, a small slice of ham, and a hefty amount of swiss cheese. Bake until the cheese is golden brown. Serve and enjoy!
SIMPLE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE. Spread a bit of butter over a puffed pastry cut-out. Sprinkle with sparkling sugar. Bake until golden. Serve with fresh berries and whipping cream for a quick, delicious dessert.
