Time to plan your Labor Day BBQ feast, as it’s this coming weekend. Snuck up on you, didn’t it?! It sure snuck up on me! That’s why I went searching for great marinades for all the meat we are going to be grilling up this weekend. Yes, we are making multiple meats. We’ve got ribs and steak and chicken and shrimp lovers (my kids especially love shrimp), so I’ve got everyone covered. In staying on top of things I even purchased some meat a few days ago, covered it with the marinade, and froze it. Freezing it in the marinade allows the flavors to really get into the meat and helps to protect it against freezer burn. Plus, that part is already taken care of when we’re ready to cook. Now all I have to do is pop it out of the freezer and let it defrost.
Here are some marinades to try for your end-of-summer barbecue:

This marinade is great on all kinds of food from the grill, from veggies to fish to chicken and even pork, with the added bonus of being a salad dressing too!

How did I not know this recipe was out there for anyone to make?! Chipotle knows how to make a good marinade. I will be making this tonight and tomorrow and the rest of the summer!

Thai Chili Skirt Steak Marinade 4 of 9
Give your steak a little kick with chilis from Thai chili sauce, sriracha, and red curry, while giving it some tang with vinegar and fish sauce. Top it all off with Thai basil. Now wipe that drool off your chin.
Chicken Satay 5 of 9
Chicken satay is a great party food: it's chicken on a stick, you don't need utensils, and it's small enough to eat as an appetizer or main if you eat a few. My favorite part? The peanut dipping sauce. Mmmm.

Sticky Pineapple Pork Ribs 6 of 9
We are huge rib lovers around here and every time we make a batch, we use a new method. I'm definitely going to give this sticky pineapple recipe a try.
Spooky Drumsticks with Medieval Marinade 7 of 9
It doesn't need to be halloween to make these incredible drumsticks. My kids love "chicken bones" as they call them, but I always have to make enough for the adults, who secretly love them too.
Coco-Cola BBQ Ribs 8 of 9
This photo is beyond amazing. Oh wait, the taste of the rib marinade is even better! You cook the ribs in Coca Cola, then make a sauce using more coke and other decadent ingredients.

Marinated Ginger Garlic Shrimp 9 of 9
At all the summer BBQs I've gone to, the kids end up devouring all the shrimp. I'm hosting the next party and I'll be sure to set some aside for the parents to enjoy.
