Banana splits were my favorite dessert as a child. There’s just something about a banana topped with ice cream, warm chocolate sauce and whipped cream. But there’s no way that I can have one today without it going straight to my hips, so I only have one every once in a while. However I have recently found some fun new ways to enjoy the flavors of a banana split without all the guilt. The breakfast banana split shown above is one of these healthy options. It’s made with banana, cottage cheese and fruit preserves. Of course it doesn’t taste the same, but what a fun breakfast idea for kids and adults alike.
