My kids are gaga for smoothies and Sylvie is always trying to come up with different concoctions – some are good and others not so much. Today she went scavenging through the fridge and came out with an armful of fruit. There were frozen berries, banana’s, and some yogurt. Sounds delicious, but I wanted to give it a little extra nutrition without ruining her flavor combination. It turned out incredible; so incredible that my husband kept sneaking sips from the kids. And with the added nutrition this will make for a perfect after school snack when the kiddos are worn out and hungry. Get the recipe after the jump…

After School Smoothie Snack Recipe
1 frozen banana (I freeze banana’s that are very ripe to have on hand for smoothies or bread)
1/2 cup berries (we used a blueberry, blackberry, raspberry combo)
1 6oz container strawberry yogurt
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablesppon whole flax seed
Combine all ingredient in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and serve. Makes 2 smoothies.
