Afterschool Yummy: Homemade Banana-Flavored Milk

There’s this strange little secret I have for getting rid of old bananas.  Of course, you can always bake them into banana bread, but my kids are head over heels happy whenever we blend up a batch of this icy banana-flavored milk.  On the rare occasion that they eat school lunch, flavored milk is always on the menu.  But, I kind of like the idea of making flavored milk at home, with nothing but pure, fresh fruit and organic milk and sugar.  It’s a quick, fun, yummy way to add a little panache to a meal, afterschool snack, or after dinner dessert.

Banana Milk

  • 2 cups organic whole milk
  • 1 very ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup organic sugar
  • 1/2 cup ice

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until frothy. Serve immediately.  Enjoy!
