Confession: I’ve never been much of an eggnog girl. Even when I do sip it, most often for reasons of nostalgia, I cut it half and half with milk to thin it out and make it easier to drink. So why start with nog when you can begin with milk, and add spices and sweetness to your taste? Use brown sugar, honey or maple syrup for a flavor switch, a drop of vanilla and some freshly grated nutmeg. A shot of bourbon is completely up to you, and how your holiday is going.
This easy, creamy milk punch is quick to stir together, whether you’re serving one or twenty, and can be served warm in mugs or chilled — straight up or on the rocks.
Honey Milk Punch: shake or blend 1 cup whole milk (or use 1% and half & half), 1 Tbsp. honey, a drop of vanilla and 2 cups ice cubes; strain into two glasses and sprinkle with freshly grated nutmeg. (Recipe can be multiplied to fill a pitcher.)
