Apple and Blood Orange Buckle: An Easy, Sophisticated Cake

By brooklynsupper |

Sometimes you just need a dessert that you can bring to a friend’s party, a school event, or something you’re hosting that’s going to provide an air of sophistication without requiring too much in the way of time or money. This blood orange and apple buckle fits the bill perfectly.

We recently made this for a brunch with friends where it was a huge hit, so we’ll be adding it to our repertoire as something to make any time we see blood oranges at the local grocery (which is not as often as we’d like, but maybe having a limit set on us is a good thing). While the blood orange’s mix of sweet and tart is wonderful, if you need to you can always sub in another citrus fruit for slightly different but still wonderful results.
