Sometimes you want a classic. Something warm and rich, a m0uthfull of cinnamon and sweet bread. Then, there are times when you want something familiar, but still new. The slightest variation on what you’re used to. These easy Apple Butter cinnamon rolls are that sort of a variation. They are cinnamon rolls with a kicked up apple flavor. A thick spread of apple butter topped with brown sugar, cinnamon, and little bits of fresh diced apples. As if that isn’t lovely enough, the warm rolls are slathered with an Apple Cider icing. If you don’t like apples, stick with the original. If you are an apple lover, this recipe is for you.

For the Rolls:
1 batch The Best Basic Roll Dough
1 ½ cups Musselman’s Apple Butter
2 tablespoons cinnamon
2 cups brown sugar
2 apples, peeled and finely diced
Roll the dough into a long, flat rectangle (about 3/4” thick). Use a spatula to spread a nice layer of apple butter on top of the dough. Sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and diced apples over the dough. Roll up the dough securely. Slice into 2” pieces. Place sliced rolls spiral-side-up in a well-greased pie tin or baking dish. Bake in an oven preheated to 375 degrees for 15-17 minutes, or just until the edges of the rolls are slightly browned. Remove and pour warm Sticky Caramel Icing over the rolls before serving.
