According to the Gothamist an artisanal mayonnaise store has opened it’s doors in Brooklyn (Prospect Heights Section to be exact). That’s right a store that only sells mayonnaise. It’s called Empire Mayonnaise. Inside the store you’ll find flavors of the creamy condiment like: Bacon, Nori, Saffron, White Truffle, Black Garlic, Lime Pickle, Preserved Lemon, and Vadouvan (a French curry masala). Jars range from $6-8 each. Would you be willing to pony up for these gourmet jars?
Don’t worry if you can’t make it to Brooklyn you can buy their mayonnaise ONLINE.

Now making your own mayonnaise is a cinch, and if you’d like to give it a whirl, check out:

I could get behind artisanal cheese, chocolate, coffee, artisanal pizza and even artisanal burgers. But I just can’t go there with mayonnaise. I don’t know why, but I just can’t do it.

I think if the Portlandia folks ever want to do a new series, Brooklyn is where they should set it.
