Banana Cinnamon Oatmeal Recipe
Oatmeal has long been a family breakfast favorite, and I love having fun with all the flavor combinations. For this batch, made on a lazy morning with my girls, I opted for cinnamon, honey, and bananas. Cinnamon and honey are the obvious choices, but cool, creamy bananas added a little natural sweetness along with great flavor.

Banana Cinnamon Oatmeal
serves 4

4 cups water
2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 bananas, sliced
3 – 4 tablespoons honey

In a medium-sized sauce pan, bring the water to a boil. Stir in the oats, cinnamon, and salt, and turn down to simmer. Cook for 10 – 15 minutes, or until oats have reached your desired consistency.

Just before serving, spoon oatmeal into bowls and finish with the banana slices, milk, and honey, plus a little sprinkle of cinnamon.
