This morning I blended up a delicious Blue Green Ginger Zing Smoothie. It was my very first creation using my new Vitamix blender and I couldn’t be more excited about the results. Frothy purple smoothie rich in antioxidants and a deep spicy accent from the ginger-green juice. And you wouldn’t even guess that there is a handful of healthy green chard in this smoothie. Blue Green Ginger Zing Smoothie
1 cup wild blueberries
1 banana (frozen for a thicker smoothie)
3/4 cup ice cubes
1 1/2 cups green ginger juice (see below)
(juicer required – or see note below) Green Ginger juice
2 large chard leaves
1 small apple
1 Tbsp raw ginger
2 celery stalks
1 small carrot
Juicer Note: if you do not have a juicer you can sub with a store-bought green juice – and add a dash of cayenne in place of the spicy ginger
Blend. Pour. Garnish with banana. Enjoy!!
