Blue Green Ginger Zing Smoothie

By kathypatalsky |

This morning I blended up a delicious Blue Green Ginger Zing Smoothie. It was my very first creation using my new Vitamix blender and I couldn’t be more excited about the results. Frothy purple smoothie rich in antioxidants and a deep spicy accent from the ginger-green juice. And you wouldn’t even guess that there is a handful of healthy green chard in this smoothie. Start your day with this smoothie!..

Blue Green Ginger Zing Smoothie

1 banana (frozen for a thicker smoothie)

2 large chard leaves
1 small apple
1 Tbsp raw ginger
2 celery stalks

Juicer Note: if you do not have a juicer you can sub with a store-bought green juice – and add a dash of cayenne in place of the spicy ginger

This looks yummy! I don’t have a Vitamix though :( Hopefully my Tribest can handle it!

  2. Sheryl says:

I love this and I’m going to try that ginger in my morning smoothie. Love getting my greens in first thing…

  3. Sara says:

If I were you I would add the whole veggies instead of making the juice. You vita mix can handle the chard leaves and the celery. It will make it way more healthy!

  4. Michelle says:

Love this smoothie! I don’t have a juicer so I just prepared it in my Vita-Mix. Yummy juice. My 3.5 year old son lived the smoothie as well. Please keep the smoothie recipes coming. Smiles.

  5. Brandon says:

This sounds like a great recipe. I’m going to try it with my Amafruits acai pulp instead of blueberries, though.
