Buttermilk is something that always lingers in my fridge. I buy it for salad dressing, or something like that, and then have at least two more cups to use once I’ve made the dish I bought it for. I hate to waste food so I often end up baking with it or using it for some other delicious treat. In fact, sometimes buttermilk moves from being a side ingredient to being the main flavor! Buttermilk does such a great job of making cakes sweet and moist, dressings smooth and tangy, and fried chicken taste just right.
