To say I am excited that grilling season has arrived is a complete understatement. I am jumping-on-the-sofa ecstatic! The kind of happy where I actually skip around the kitchen in the afternoon. Because with grilling season comes burgers. I generally don’t cook burgers on the stovetop during the winter, because I don’t like the way it smells up the kitchen. But outdoor on the grill? No problem. I’ll make those every night! To kick off grilling season we made these delicious burgers over the weekend. They are a tasty burger recipe from my brother, topped with caramelized onions and spicy ketchup.
To make these burgers follow the great recipe below and top them with the onions and ketchup. However, if you want to top them with other things like bacon, cheese, pickles, tomatoes or anything else that strikes your fancy, be my guest!
Burgers with Caramelized Onions & Spicy Ketchup
1 batch Uncle Will’s burgers
2 large onions, sliced and caramelized
1/2 cup ketchup mixed with 2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
Soft hamburger buns
Grill the burgers over medium heat until they are medium-well done. Top them with with the caramelized onions and a dollop of ketchup and serve!
