California Avocados Direct: From the Farm to Your Doorstep

Avocados are one of my favorite foods. I like them on sandwiches, in salads and as guacamole. Grilled, fries and avocado ranch dip for homemade potato chips are all acceptable forms of a way to get them from their thick skin and onto my plate. So, when California Avocados Direct contacted me and asked if I wanted to try theirs, claiming to be the freshest avocados available, I signed on immediately.

A box of avocados arrived on my doorstep, green and firm and looking like avocado perfection. Their smooth, creamy avocados were better than anything I can find here in the Midwest. Fresh and perfect, and the avocado didn’t have any of those annoying strings you can often find in store-bought avocados. When mashed, these avocados became a perfect creamy consistency with no signs of them being frozen in the depths of storage as they made their way to store shelves with telltale watery separation signs.

California Avocados Direct is a family-owned business, committed to bringing you the freshest avocados direct from the orchard. The Holtz family uses sustainable farming practices to ensure you are receiving the highest quality avocados and that they arrive at your doorstep as fresh as they would be if you were to visit the farm. You can see their complete story at the website, and Ben Holtz will explain just how passionate he is about avocados.

I turned my avocados into an avocado ranch dip, but then I also saved some to eat to top a slice of baguette and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. The flavor is so full and rich, they need nothing to mask them or cover them up. Try them for yourself and taste the difference.
