California Restaurant Month Returns!

After a successful first year, California Restaurant Month returns again in January of 2012 with superstar chefs, prix fixe menus, wine pairings, chef-hosted dinners and more. It’s a great opportunity for foodies to experience a region that gets the nod as one of the great dining destinations of the world.

Here’s what’s going on across the state for California Restaurant Month:

Northern California

El Dorado County – The El Dorado Epicurean – January 22-29, 2012
The El Dorado Epicurean is a weeklong celebration of our local cuisine. Enjoy dozens of delectable deals, and a county-wide grand finale on January 29. For this one night only the El Dorado County Visitor’s Authority is assembling the area’s finest chefs offering an extraordinary opportunity to become an El Dorado Epicurean. Choose from 7 different itineraries that include a delicious four-course dinner, each course served at a different restaurant.

Madera County – California Restaurant Month – January 2012
Come celebrate California Restaurant Month throughout January in Madera County California’s Gateway to Yosemite. Enjoy amazing dishes featuring local ingredients as Madera County restaurants highlight the bounty provided by the land.

Mendocino County – California Restaurant Month – January 1-30, 2012
This year we are thrilled to partner with Visit California to celebrate California Restaurant Month in our own unique way. Restaurants throughout Mendocino County will be offering specially-priced crab dishes during the month of January to holders of the California Restaurant Month card. Come celebrate our crustaceous celebrity with crab cakes, cioppino, crab legs, cracked crab, crab puffs, and more.

Redding – Redding Dining Days – January 8-21, 2012
Redding restaurants will be hosting Redding Dining Days. During this period, select items will be discounted off their menu price.

Sacramento – Dine Downtown – January 9-18, 2012
Experience the best of Downtown Sacramento’s dining scene during the award-winning Dine Downtown Restaurant Week. For 10 days only, local chefs will create special three-course dinner menus.

Shasta Cascade – California Restaurant Month – January 8-21, 2012
Come get a taste of the beautiful Shasta Cascade region during California Restaurant Month. From seafood to steakhouses, our dining offerings are as diverse as the region where they are showcased. During this period, select items will be offered at a discounted price.

Bay Area

Marin County – Marin County Restaurant Month – January 2012
From cozy and casual to elegant and refined, Marin County is home to more than 500 restaurants. Every region of the world is represented with its own rich and diverse ethnic cuisine, and friendly and engaging restaurateurs happily share their history and secrets.

Napa Valley – Napa Valley Restaurant Month
Sip, sup, and savor some of the Napa Valley’s finest foods and wines during Napa Valley Restaurant Month. Throughout January, the legendary wine and culinary destination that earned 14 Michelin Stars for 2012 offers unique dining opportunities and special menus that celebrate country-lane freshness and the terroir of its world-renowned wines and artisanal produce.

Oakland – Visit Oakland Restaurant Week – January 20-29, 2012
Celebrate Oakland’s thriving culinary scene with ten days of special prix fixe menus at select restaurants. isitors can enjoy unique lunch and dinner offerings, including wine pairings, desserts, appetizers, or other featured items, at many of Oakland’s top restaurants. Reservations are strongly recommended. Be sure to ask about Restaurant Week specials.

San Francisco – Dine About Town San Francisco – January 15-31, 2012
Dine About Town San Francisco returns for the eleventh year, providing an opportunity for both locals and visitors to experience San Francisco’s finest restaurants at a fraction of the price. Diners may select from more than 100 participating restaurants offering a two-course lunch menu and/or a three-course dinner menu. A kickoff event benefiting Meals on Wheels will be held on January 12 at City View at Metreon, 101 4th St. in San Francisco beginning at 6 p.m.

San Mateo – Share the Bounty – January 15-31, 2012
“Share the Bounty” at multiple restaurants in the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley area. Participating restaurants will offer a wide range of discounts and offers, from multi-course prix fixe meals, to complimentary items with purchase of entrée.

Tri-Valley – Taste of Tri-Valley Restaurant Week – January 21-29, 2012
From upscale wine country restaurants to charming downtown cafés and innovative local favorites, explore the Tri-Valley’s diverse culinary offerings without breaking the bank during Taste of Tri-Valley Restaurant Week. The eight-day celebration provides food lovers the opportunity to dine at the region’s vibrant and distinctive eateries for a fraction of the normal expense. More than 25 restaurants in the cities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon and Danville are expected to participate.

Yountville – 3rd Annual Moveable Feast – January 1-February 29, 2012
Enjoy the 3rd annual Moveable Feast. This town-wide program features gourmet prix-fixe meals, VIP wine tastings and luxurious lodging at special, limited-time prices. Whether you are an avid wine country connoisseur or looking for your first taste of Yountville’s offerings, Moveable Feast is the perfect time to experience the ultimate wine country getaway.

Central Coast

Camarillo – California Restaurant Month – January 2012
During the entire month of January, Camarillo will feature many unique, independent restaurants, and larger chain restaurants specializing in American cuisine, seafood and ethnic oriented selections.

Monterey County – California Restaurant Month – January 2012
Explore the region via fork and knife throughout January, 2012, as the destination celebrates California Restaurant Month with four weeks overflowing with prizes, free wine tasting, prix fixe menus, foodie events and exclusive vacation discounts.

Oxnard – Oxnard International Restaurant Week – January 23-28, 2012
Oxnard International Restaurant Week is a city-wide celebration of restaurants that feature eclectic culinary delights and that showcases Oxnard as a premier dining destination in Ventura County. Participating restaurants are offering a 2-course lunch and 3-course dinner at fixed prices.

San Luis Obispo – 5th Annual Restaurant Month – January 2-31, 2012
Plan ahead and make sure to come out and Savor San Luis Obispo County during the month of January. January 2012 will be our 5th Annual Restaurant Month. You will be able to visit participating San Luis Obispo County Restaurants, January 2 – 31, for a 3-course, pre-fixe menu. Enjoy the bounty of our county and indulge in fresh, locally grown produce and meats all prepared especially for you! Reservations recommended if not required.

Santa Barbara – Film Feast – January 26-February 5, 2012
Santa Barbara rolls out the red carpet for another edition of Film Feast, a special prix fixe dining program coinciding with 27th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Film Feast invites visitors and locals to savor the very best of Santa Barbara before or after catching the action on the big screen. A stellar cast of restaurants, bars, lounges and tasting rooms serves up three-course tasting menus, spotlighting locally sourced cuisine, inventive cocktails and Central Coast wines and beers.

Santa Maria – California Restaurant Month – January 15-20, 2012
This is perfect time for locals to try out a new restaurant in the area or savor the flavors of a favorite. Visitors are invited to discover some of the best wine and food in our destination at a great value.

Santa Ynez Valley – Santa Ynez Restaurant Week – January 22-28, 2012
Taste your way through the Santa Ynez Valley during Restaurant Week. Participating restaurants throughout the Santa Ynez Valley are offering special 3-course tasting menus. Reservations are highly recommended; contact restaurants directly for menus and specific dining hours.

Southern California

Each participating restaurant will feature at least one discounted dish that best compliments their restaurant.

Irvine – Irvine Restaurant Week – January 13-19, 2012
Food lovers have an opportunity to experience the City’s diverse dining Restaurant Week. The seven-day celebration features special two or three-course, prix fixe lunch and/or dinner menus at more than a dozen participating restaurants.

Los Angeles – dineLA 2012 Restaurant Week – January 22-27, 2012 & January 29-February3, 2012
dineLA January 2012 Restaurant Week offers three dining categories with specially priced three-course meals for lunch and/or dinner at top restaurants throughout the city. Diners can choose from three options for each course including appetizer, entrée, and dessert course. Angelenos and visiting epicureans can enjoy lunches and dinners at over 300 of the city’s top restaurants, exploring why Los Angeles is one of the country’s top dining destinations.

Newport Beach – Newport Beach Restaurant Week – January 20-29, 2012
“Savor the Flavor” of the OC’s first and favorite restaurant week. Newport Beach’s finest eateries will participate in this citywide culinary celebration, serving up special prix-fixe gourmet menus at tiered price points for lunch and dinner. Most restaurants will offer a minimum of three offerings per course giving the dining community an incredible opportunity to enjoy exceptional prix-fixe meals prepared by the hottest Newport Beach Chefs.

Pasadena – Cheeseburger Week in Pasadena – January 15-20, 2012
Celebrate the birth of the cheeseburger in the home of the cheeseburger: Pasadena. See how some of Pasadena’s best restaurants and the world’s finest burger joints interpret an American menu staple. Take the Cheeseburger Challenge: try them all and vote for your favorite. More than 20 restaurants are up to the challenge.

San Diego – San Diego Restaurant Week – January 15-20, 2012
More than 140,000 diners will eat their way through more than 180 restaurants during San Diego Restaurant Week. The special week offers three-course prix-fixe menus. A recent addition to San Diego Restaurant Week is Restaurant Week lunch option, offering two-course prix-fixe menus. This countywide affair gives foodies the chance to explore culinary delights from the beaches to downtown and from North County to South Bay.

San Juan Capistrano – California Restaurant Month – January 2012
San Juan Capistrano is home to a number of great restaurants, many of which are independently owned and operated. They showcase the unique spirit of the community and the abundant natural resources of California. To celebrate the 1776 founding of the beautiful and historic Mission San Juan Capistrano, a number of San Juan restaurants will offer pre-set meals for just $17.76.

Simi Valley – Simi Valley Restaurant Week
Simi Valley is pleased to participate in California Restaurant Month. Over 35 different local restaurants are participating, some hosting “Celebrity” Chef nights.

Temecula – California Restaurant Month – January 2012
Temecula will celebrate Restaurant Month the entire month of January. This will include over 20 restaurants from casual to fine dining, offering Prix Fixe lunch as well as dinner.
