Caramel Apple French ToastKelsey Banfield
With apple season on the horizon it is time to make all sorts of apple treats. Like a lot of people, one of my favorite flavor combinations is apple and caramel. A classic caramel dipped apple always hits the spot. I also like to make things like caramel apple dip, bread pudding, and a whole host of different things. The other morning I topped some simple french toast squares with apple slices and a drizzle of caramel sauce. It was SO delicious! Here is how you can make this amazing morning treat for your family today!
Caramel Apple French Toast
2 slices whole wheat bread
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 apple, sliced
1 teaspoon caramel sauce
Butter for the pan
1. In a large skillet melt the butter over medium heat. Swirl it so it coats the bottom of the pan.
2. In a small bowl whisk the eggs, milk, and cinnamon until well beaten. Then dip the slices of bread in the egg mixture until it has absorbed everything. Drop the bread into the pan and cook it for about 4 minutes per side, or until it is lightly browned.
3. Then, cut up the bread and serve it topped with apple slices and caramel!
