Celebrate Independence Day with Red, White and Blue Cake Pops

By Angie McGowan |

Happy 4th of July. Today is Independence Day, a day to celebrate our nation. For young kids, it’s all about fireworks, picnics, grilling and family fun. For us adults, it’s not only about all those fun things, but also about remembering our servicemen and woman that help keep our country secure and our rights protected in our nation’s constitution. But let’s not forget what today is really actually about, our nation’s independence from Great Britain. Today is the 235th anniversary of the adoption of our Declaration of Independence, which declared the American colonies a sovereign nation separate from Great Britain.

Our family will be celebrating today by grilling, outdoor games, and then later going to see fireworks. I made these festive red, white and blue cake pops yesterday to celebrate the fourth of July. They are so easy and really tasty too. You can find my recipe for red, white and blue cake pops at my blog, Eclectic Recipes.
