Celebrate Pi Day with Savory Pies!

Happy Pi Day! Today people everywhere are rejoicing and celebrating pi. The mathematical constant that reflects the ratio between a circle’s circumference and diameter… 3.14159265. Here’s a fun fact: Pi day is celebrated on March 14 {3/14} since the numbers 3, 1, and 4 are the three most significant digits of pi in it’s decimal form.

For someone that’s mathamatically challenged like myself, I’m celebrating with literal PIE. Instead of going the sweet route, I’m celebrating with Savory Pies. Pies are all the rage this year, both in the sweet and savory categories.

Here are a few savory pies to tempt your palate with:

Savory Leek  Pie, that’s made with leeks that are bathed with creamy ricotta and nutty Grana Padano Cheese

Lamb wrapped in Pastry Dough {aka Hand Pie} Luscious lamb, with a creamy dreamy mushroom sauce, baked to a golden perfection in pie dough {pictured above}

Savory Mushroom Pie, a mushroom lover’s dream pie

Rustic Savory Pie, a flavorful pot pie bursting at the seams with goodness that will fill you up from head to toe!

What pie{s} are you celebrating with?

    That is gorgeous! I’ve tried to make savory hand pies before and mine turned out a mess- I will totally try this!
