Chicken Broth Storage Tip

This should be filed under the category “If this is your biggest problems…I want your problems.” Even so, I find it so annoying that those 32-ounce cartons give you expiration dates and instructions on storing that mean nothing once you open the carton, use only a cup or so, and store the rest. The expiration date in 2011 means nothing when I have to use the remaining broth within 7-10 days of opening. Anyway, until they embed a computer chip to timestamp the moment I open it and track it exactly 7 to 10 days from that point, I am just going old-school and writing the date on the carton with a Sharpie.
