Chili Bowl: Favorites for Tonight

By Ole & Shaina Olmanson |

The 25th Annual Chili Bowl is today, and if you’re settling in to watch Saturday’s Championship races, consider setting a pot to simmer on the stove. A pot of chili, of course. We have your favorites for race day.

The Chili Bowl races started at 12:10 p.m. and will continue all through the day and into the evening, with the final race wrapping up at 10:00 p.m. giving you plenty of time to throw together a pot of chili. Check out the full Chili Bowl schedule and grab your meat and beans to make a bowl for yourself.

Steak Chili | All your favorite chili components with steak instead of ground beef. Thick and hearty, this is a great race-day meal.

Ultimate Firehouse Chili Bowl | Brooke’s spicy hot chili will keep sports fans well fed throughout the bowl.

Black Bean and Sweet Potato Chili | Black beans and sweet potatoes come together in a hearty yet light chili.

Lentil Slow Cooker Chili | Lentil Chili with Indian spices for a change of pace.

White Chicken Chili | White beans and green chilies make an appearance in this white chili variety. Tomatillos ensure that it’ll be thick and hearty like the chili you know and love.

Turkey Chili | If you’re looking for a white-meat version, this turkey one is calling your name. Roasted red peppers and squash complement nicely.

Vegetarian Three-Bean Chipotle Chili | For the meatless crown, this vegetarian version packs a punch with spicy chipotle peppers.
