Chinese Take Out At Home: 10 Restaurant-Style Recipes For You To Try

By aggieskitchen |

Every now and then, I get a hankering for some good Chinese take out. It happens pretty often, actually. Just thinking of the smell that comes from the big bag of stir fry, sweet sesame chicken, noodles and fried rice that comes home from our local restaurant makes me hungry. My family gets just excited about it as I do. However, it’s not a secret that eating take out too often really isn’t good for the waistline, or your health in general, really. But luckily, Chinese food can be cooked so easily at home with a few pantry staples, some lean proteins, and fresh vegetables, and I often wonder why I don’t make it on a regular basis.

If you’re like me and want to challenge yourself to learn how to cook up some restaurant quality (maybe even better?) Chinese food at home, check out this great collection of mouth-watering recipes after the jump!

Beef and Pepper Stir Fry

My husband always orders Pepper Steak when we order Chinese. This lighter version made at home can be served over rice or noodles, or as a filling for lettuce wraps as Julie suggests.

OH my gosh, thanks for these. We love Chinese but it’s so expensive to go out as a family of five! Will definitely have to try!
