When people ask how I started baking, my first thought goes back to the ultra simple chocolate cake that I made hundreds of times for my family as a young girl. I was just trying to recreate the cakes I had tasted many times growing up from local bakeries in my neighborhood. I used a boxed cake mix, fresh bananas and store bought whipped cream.
