Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies

Yesterday I brought you the perfect family compromise when part of the family wants Chinese take-out and the other half wants pizza – Chicken Teriyaki Pizza. Today, I am bringing you the perfect compromise for when half the family wants chocolate chip cookies for dessert, and and the other half of the family wants chocolate brownies – chocolate chip cookie brownies. I was planning to make a chocolate pudding pie today, but while in the baking goods isle, I spotted a Betty Crocker mix for chocolate chip cookie brownies. I knew I had to create my own version, it sounded too good. For this recipe, I halved my favorite brownie recipe and my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, and then I added some baking powder to both batters to prevent to much gooey-ness. The results were amazing – rich dark cake-like brownies topped with soft puffy chocolate chip cookies.
