Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte

Chocolate and peanut butter. Those two together seems like a match made in heaven.

My current obsession runs deep. Inspiration to create the most elegant combination can be found in every bakery, every food photo site, on the shelves in grocery store aisles. Pulling my favorites, the things that hung in the back of my mine, refusing to be forgotten, all coming together into one elegantly layered dessert and sliced to serve.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte
1/2 recipe devil’s food batter baked spread in a half sheet pan for 10 minutes or until set
1 recipe chocolate mousse
1 recipe peanut butter frosting
1/2 recipe peanut butter caramel
4 cups roasted peanuts

Cut each half sheet pan cake into two long rectangles. Mix together 1/3 of the peanut butter frosting with 1 cup of peanuts. Mix remaining peanuts with the peanut butter caramel. Layer cake > peanut butter frosting with peanuts > mousse > peanut butter frosting > cake > peanut butter caramel with peanuts. Refrigerate to set.

Makes 12 servings.
