Chuao Chocolatier to Donate Portion of Sales to American Red Cross for Japan Relief

Carlsbad-based Chuao Chocolatier announced this week that they will be donating $1 from the sale of every Panko Chocolate Bar to the American Red Cross to help relief efforts in Japan in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami. Master Chef Michael Antonorsi, co-founder of Chuao Chocolatier, said, “The challenges faced by the citizens of Japan are unfathomable. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the entire country, and hope our contribution will help the relief efforts in the coming months.”

The Panko Chocolate Bar combines premium dark chocolate with Japanese-style panko bead crumbs and sea salt. They can be purchased online through the Chuao website or at their locations in California.

Now through 4/31/11, every Chuao Panko Chocolate Bar sale will mean $1 towards Japan relief. Note that this does not include chocolate purchased with Groupon or Living Social.
