Cinnamon-Sugar Bacon Twists for Mothers’ Day Brunch

By JulieVR |

Bacon is a must for any special breakfast or brunch – and Mothers’ Day is the brunchiest day of the year! If you’re looking to do something a little different – and a way to prepare bacon in large batches that won’t splatter the stovetop – try baked bacon, doused in cinnamon-sugar and twisted before going into the oven. Twisting each piece also makes them a little fancier, but as a bonus they take up less space on the sheet, allowing you to make more at one time. The result – crispy, chewy, sticky-sweet bacon twists that are easy to eat with your fingers – perfect for breakfast in bed.

Candied Bacon Twists

Adapted from AllRecipes

1 lb. bacon
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350F. Cut each bacon strip in half crosswise. In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Dip bacon strips in sugar mixture; twist. Place on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until crisp. Serve warm. Serves 6.
