We are big fans of baked donuts around these parts, any flavor will do. Our favorite is just simple donuts with a cinnamon sugar coating. When I first made these the recipe said to use your hands to put the batter into the donut pan. Um crazy mess. Then someone commented to use a slider bag for the batter, brilliant. The recipe also called for brushing on butter and dipping into bowl of cinnamon sugar. This created a mess on the counter followed by a not so evenly coated cinnamon sugar donut with children shaking off the excess all over the place. Time for a new method of topping application. That’s where my good old friend the Hefty Slider bag came to the rescue.
All I had to do was make the donut batter, put it into a Hefty Slider bag and squeeze into the pan and bake. Next I just poured the cinnamon sugar into the hefty slider bag and instead of using butter, I chose to spray each donut over the sink with cooking spray. Then I tossed the sprayed donut into the hefty slider bag, closed it with the slider and let the littles shake to their hearts content. When thoroughly coated, I opened the bag and set the donut onto a plate and continued with the rest.
After we finished the donut dusting I sealed the bag and placed the cinnamon sugar in the cupboard for next time.
