COOL WHIP Iced ChaiKelsey Banfield
I love iced chai and make it all the time. The other day I decided to make my usual afternoon cup and top it with a dollop of COOL WHIP Whipped Topping. I can’t help myself, COOL WHIP just seems to make everything better. I also loved the way it instantly chilled my drink. To make my favorite variation I also use chai ice cubes. I know it is overkill, but I love it that way. The COOL WHIP added a wonderful sweet milky flavor to the tea. It was the perfect combination of cool and sweet, almost like I’d added a dollop of vanilla ice cream, only light! It was the simplest change that made all the difference. After all, what you add makes it!
COOL WHIP Iced Chai
4 teabags for your favorite chai tea
1/4 cup skim milk
1 large dollop COOL WHIP
1. If you want chai tea ice cubes, make them in advance by brewing 1 cup of tea with two of the teabags. This keeps the flavor very strong. Freeze this tea in an ice cube tray.
2. Brew the remaining two teabags in two cups of hot water. Allow to steep for at least 5 minutes, then remove the bags and allow the tea to cool to room temperature. Or, chill the tea until ready to drink.
3. To assemble the chai, stir the 2 cups of chai with the milk in a tall glass. Add 3 or 4 of the chai tea ice cubes to keep the drink cool. Top with COOL WHIP and enjoy!
