This Cranberry Concord Grape Sauce puts a deep, dark, sticky, sweet twist on your usual homemade holiday cranberry sauce. I change out my usual bright citrus accent flavors for a deeper accent from rich concord grape juice and brown sugar. Try this bold, elegant recipe!..
Cranberry Concord Grape Sauce
makes 2 1/4 cups
1 bag organic whole cranberries, rinsed (12 ounces)
1 cup concord grape juice
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp orange zest
pinch of salt
optional: fold in 1/2 cup chopped pecans
“jelly version” -> dissolve 1-2 Tbsp of agar agar beads, during the boiling process. (shown in top photo)
1. Rinse your berries. Add to a soup pot.
2. Turn heat to high and add in sugar, salt, grape juice.
3. Bring to a boil. Stir for a few minutes. Add in agar (optional).
4. Reduce heat to a a simmer and let heat for an additional 15 minutes – add in optional orange zest.
Cool. Serve. Store in fridge.
