Deconstructed Spicy Shrimp Sushi

photo: sxc.hu

I love sushi, but it can be so expensive. And making an actual roll at home can be so time consuming. Which is why a meal of Deconstructed Sushi is the perfect answer to both problems. It’s quick, easy, and just as good as the real thing. This is also a great way to introduce kids to the flavors of Sushi without turning them off by the strange green seaweed wrapping and hunks of raw eel or octopus.

Deconstructed Spicy Shrimp Sushi

  • 1 cup cooked sticky rice
  • Salad shrimp, thawed or drained and rinsed under cold water
  • 1/2 avocado, pitted and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon Srichacha hot sauce

On a plate, place a mound of sticky rice. Add the shrimp and avocado on top. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and hot sauce. Drizzle over the top of the your plate. Serve immediately and enjoy!
