I have four kids, and I’ve been a mom for nearly 12 years now, which is almost half my life at this point – crazy to think about but true. It has meant a lack of romantic dinners in my life, for sure, but it has also given me a great appreciation for the little things. The most romantic thing I could possibly think of is a dinner that just includes my husband and myself and a babysitter at home, one that I didn’t call to schedule. There are no distractions, kids giggling, or dropping food on freshly cleaned floors. Those things are all amazing, and I am grateful for them, but sometimes it’s nice just to have a quiet meal with my other half. Bonus points if Ole scheduled one of the babysitters who cleans and does dishes, too.
