Who: Julie Van Rosendaal, mother of one son, Willem, living in Calgary, Canada
Why we love this blog: It’s almost impossible not to like someone who devoted an entire week of blog entries to “Random Acts of Cheese.” A professional food columnist and cooking show host, Van Rosendaal devotes much of her blog real estate to tackling questions like what to do with overripe pears and service posts like tasty re-heatable dishes your family can eat in your absence. More importantly, she asks readers (nicely) to question whether the things they’re eating can taste better. Is it possible to make your own butter at home? Hell yes, it is! Can something as awesome as made-from-scratch applesauce be improved? See (or better yet, taste) for yourself.
