Who: Shauna James Ahern, a mother of one daughter living in Seattle (Ahern co-writes the blog with her husband, Daniel Fitzgerald Ahern)
Why we love this blog: With the sharp rise in food allergies, it’s nice to know that there are places moms can turn to for decent meal solutions. Gluten-free Girl is one of them. A mom diagnosed with celiac disease in 2005, Ahern took her gluten-free lifestyle to the web. She now writes the blog alongside her professional chef husband and dedicates each post to showing why a gluten-free lifestyle isn’t one of deprivation. Of course there are tons of gluten-free dishes here (after all, Ahern’s cookbook was named one of the best of 2010 by the New York Times), but there are also travel stories, glimpses into Ahern’s day-to-day life, and, most deliciously of all, tales of love, both with and without food.
