In Jennie’s Kitchen | Jennie
Who: Jennie, mother of two, Brooklyn
Why we love her: Any cook who’s worked in kitchens with Tom Colicchio and Alain Ducasse has every right to be a food snob, but Jennie is anything but. Her recipes focus on local, seasonal ingredients and are decidedly unpretentious with their suggestions for substitutions and variations based on your own tastes. What we really love, though, is how thoughtful every post is – from salvaging a failed dish to considering why certain food writers can be off-putting to coping with picky eaters, Jennie’s angle is always fresh and heartfelt.

No one who cooks, cooks alone. Even at her most solitary, a cook in the kitchen is surrounded by generations of cooks past, the advice and menus of cooks present, the wisdom of cookbook writers.
