Top 100 Food Mom Blogs, 2011

Some of our favorite things here at Babble are family food blogs and the moms who write them. From their real-life tips for feeding picky eaters to their 30-minute recipes and overall inspiring approaches, these women give us the tools we need to put dinner (and dessert, lunch, breakfast, snacks:) on the table. So for Babble's second annual Top Food Mom Blogs, we decided to go from 50 to 100 winners. Our food-loving panel made their picks, but we want your feedback, too, so nominate your favorite food mama here.

Check back to see your nominations on our 2012 list next year and, in the meantime, read, write, and link up. Bon App'tit! - The Babble Editors

Ree’s Rankings

326 Points

Who: Ree Drummond, mother of four, Oklahoma

Why we love her: Ree can turn any good recipe into an even better story (like how they almost named their oldest daughter after the city she was conceived in). Her focus on cowgirl-style home cooking like fried round steak and cheese muffins is so inviting, time spent on her blog feels like time spent with a good friend. Ree’s so popular, in fact, that her cookbook released last year quickly became a New York Times, bestseller. Her beautiful photography combined with her witty, yet educational recipes make The Pioneer Woman an impressive read, y’all.

  1. If you haven’t visited thepioneerwoman.com, then you are missing out! Ree is awesome!

  2. Her photos are so good they ALWAYS make my mouth water.

  3. You will never get out of pot or pan anything fundamentally better than what went into it. Cooking is not alchemy; there is no magic in the pot.

Nice blog! hope that you can also check it out my blog too. My book is already release, and I’m just wondering if you guys interested to purchase the book? :) http://doubleyourdaddyduties.com/ http://whatsyoexcuse.com you can check it out! Thanks!

  4. Really? Ree steals recipes from other sites and cookbooks, and nearly everything is laden with fat and high caloric content.

Come on, Babble, you can do better.

  5. Really Lia? Don’t we all leverage ideas from other places and make them our own. I rarely see a recipe on the Food Network that is not “stolen” from some original.

Ree’s web site is so funny to read. I agree that her recipes are high calorie/fat for the most part, but that’s because she is part of an active family who makes their living out on the land versus sitting on their butts (like me) at a desk all day. Her recipes make perfect sense for her lifestyle.

  6. I missed her when she came to Austin ecabuse I was in Minnesota I was so sad- I hope she is planning on selling the t-shirts they are so cute! I missed the day she was giving them away on the site too!! Have fun when you see her in H Town! PS I did not know you grew up with her and W(B)etsy So fun you will have to share sometime how fun that was
