Do you love this centerpiece idea as much as I do? Why bother with cutting flowers and cumbersome vases when you are entertaining al fresco? The folks at Blooming Hill farm decorated their outdoor dining tables with zucchini and little planters (this one at my end of the table was a costa romanesco plant) which we were allowed to take home at the end of the night. My friend Elizabeth used to only decorate her table with fruits and vegetables when she was entertaining. I remember an entire row of beautiful peaches marching right down the center of her rectangular table just like soldiers. And of course, they doubled as dessert.
