Easy Cinnamon Dessert Nachos with Hefty Slider Bags

Who knew that you could use Hefty Slider bags to make cuh-razy delish cinnamon dessert tortilla chips? Well, smartie…now YOU do!  Frying tortillas into fresh chips isn’t a hard task, but it can be a messy one. You’ve got to toss those golden brown triangles into a sugar and cinnamon mixture, coating them to sweet-loving perfection. To keep the task clean and tidy, I’ve discovered the sturdiness and simplicity of Hefty Slider bags is exactly what I need to get the task done right!

Once the tortillas are fried, I cool them ever so slightly, then toss them right into Hefty Slider Bags, where a cinnamon and sugar mixture awaits. Slide that top closed, shake-shake-shake-senora, and there’s a batch of fresh dessert chips just waiting to be tasted. At topped! Try them in this fun recipes for fruity nachos.

Simple Cinnamon Dessert Nachos

  • 6 small flour tortillas
  • 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup prepared vanilla frosting, melted
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1/2 cup fresh kiwi, diced

Slice tortillas into small triangles. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil and pan fry tortillas until golden brown on both sides. Remove from oil and transfer to a plate covered in a clean paper towel. Fill gallon-sized HEFTY Storage Slider Bag with sugar and cinnamon.  Toss warm chips into the mixture until coated. Transfer to a large plate.

Place melted frosting into a quart-sized HEFTY Storage Slider Bag. Slide the top of the bag closed. Snip a small corner of the bag off, drizzle melted icing over the tortilla chips. Top with strawberries and kiwi. Enjoy!
