Easy Crock Pot Apple Butter

Did you see our CROCK POT APPLESAUCE recipe? Well, did you know that if you take that recipe a few steps further you can have delicious apple butter! You know that amazingly thick, rich apple spread that pairs beautifully with biscuits and butter {and oh so many more things}? It takes a little time but it couldn’t be easier to make. The hardest part will be peeling the apples. I use a variety of apples but you can use whichever apples you prefer. Get the recipe after the jump!

East Crock Pot Apple Butter

What you’ll need:
2 1/2 cups homemade APPLESAUCE
7 apples – peeled, cored, and cubed
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice

What to do:
1. Into your crock pot add: applesauce, cubed apples, sugars, cinnamon and allspice. Mix to combine. Cook over LOW heat for 6-8 hours until apples are softened and mixture is thick. Stir every so often.

NOTE: If you prefer your apple butter to have a smooth consistency use an immersion blender at the end of the cooking process.
