One trip to Costco during the holidays, and I suddenly feel like I am swimming in citrus fruits. Of course, I’m not complaining. What a wonderful thing to look around and see such bright orbs, bursting with flavor, color and vitamins, inundating my countertops!
To make the most of the bounty of these gorgeous fruits, though, I often follow a little trick I learned from Martha Stewart. She once had a show where she decorated her whole kitchen with these bowls and plates filled with lemons, limes, oranges, tangerines and greenery.
To make these, all you need is your fruits, some bowls or cake pedestals, and fresh greenery (I clipped mine off the bottom of my Christmas tree).
Try to make things look as bountiful as possible. Stack one or two different fruits on one plate, and then shove sprigs of pine needles or cedar in between the fruit. As the fruit is eaten, rearrange as necessary.
