Easy Spaghetti Sauce and the Hoover FloorMate Challenge

We love spaghetti at our house, but I’m not so thrilled about the mess spaghetti can leave behind with four kids. Sure, they all love slurping up homemade spaghetti sauce and pasta, but I cringe as I watch the red sauce splatter as they near the end of the noodle. My youngest finds it difficult to twirl noodles or scoop cut noodles with a spoon, and he often just resorts to his fists, dropping tiny bite-sized pieces on the chair and floor as he reaches for his mouth.

Luckily, our Hoover FloorMate 3-in-1 makes cleaning up a breeze. We just fill and mop, and we’re left with clean floors before you know it, rather than spaghetti-splattered floors that we put off giving a good scrub until the weekend like we used to.

We recently invited our friends to try it out for themselves to see if we were the only ones in love with our new floor cleaner. They tested the Hoover FloorMate against their regular method of cleaning the floors to see which they preferred.

Easy Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups tomato sauce
3 cups diced tomatoes
2 teaspoons oregano
2 teaspoons basil
1 teaspoon parsley
1 teaspoon salt

Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add in onion and saute for 5 minutes. Add in garlic, stir quickly and then dump in tomato sauce and diced tomatoes and seasonings. Simmer for 20 minutes. If sauce becomes too thick (dependent on thickness of your canned tomatoes), add in water to thin.

Serve over al dente pasta with classic Italian meatballs for an easy meal.
