Eat Healthy. Eat Local. Eat Well.

While I know that it’s not also possible, I am a firm believer in supporting our local farmers and ranchers as much as we can. It’s good for you and your family. It’s good for the farmers/ranchers {and their families} and helps contribute to our local economies. A win win!

By buying your food locally, we can all feel confident knowing where our food comes from, knowing that it’s fresh and SEASONAL. With a little research you can find a local CSA {Community Supported Agriculture} or similar organization near you. Here is a great place to start Local Harvest.

I support a local organization called Carolina Grown. Here’s a little excerpt from their site: “By choosing pastured meats and fresh fruits and vegetables, you choose foods filled with numerous dietary benefits not typically found in mass-produced foods. By choosing Carolina Grown, you choose meats and produce from farms and ranches in North Carolina, keeping state farms functioning and contributing to the local economy. By choosing us, you choose humane treatment of animals, nutritional food, and a wide variety of goods that will create your family’s menu without breaking the bank.”

Are you involved in a CSA or other local organization?
