When we visit my parent’s in Cooperstown my daughter is allowed to have orange sherbet as a special treat after dinner. It is one of her favorite routines with her grandparents and I think it is fun and sweet. When we were visiting them for Columbus Day my daughter asked if I could make her favorite cold treat into a milkshake. I am not sure why she was set on a milkshake, but why not?! I blitzed the sherbert in the blender, added a bit of milk to loosen it up and some sparkling water for fizz, then poured it into a tall glass. To give it a fun Halloween twist I tape a little jack-o-lantern face to the glass and rimmed it with Halloween sprinkles. She loved her fizzy sherbet shake and the new twist on her favorite tradition!
Fizzy Jack-o-Lantern Milkshakes
Makes 1 milkshake
2 large scoops orange sherbert
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sparkling water
Dip the rim of a tall glass in some water and then dip it in the sprinkles. Blitz the sherbert, milk and sparkling water in the blender and pour it into the tall glass. Cut a jack-o-lantern face out of black paper and tape it onto the tall glass to give it a true jack-o-lantern look. Enjoy!
