Easy and delicious – infused with the fresh fruity flavors of raspberries, blueberries and cream cheese. You can serve these waffles for brunch – or spruce them up for a fruity dessert treat this evening!..
These waffles are perfect for celebrating the fourth. Serve as a late morning or afternoon brunch if you have happily slept in through the morning today. It is perfectly acceptable to make these fluffy fruity waffles after noon. Especially if you give them a dessert makeover..
Dessert Waffles. You can even make these waffles a la mode – topped with whipped cream for a flag waffle dessert! Chocolate or caramel maple sauce too? Sprinkles. Oh yes.

Vegan Waffles. Get my vegan baking batter recipe if you’d like to make vegan flag waffles!
Flag Waffles Recipe
1 bowl of your favorite waffle batter – basic vanilla flavor (use my recipe or your own)
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup cream cheese (I used a tofu based vegan cream cheese)
1. Warm your waffle maker.
2. Mix your favorite vanilla waffle batter – or use a mix if preferred. Pour into waffle griddle.
3. When waffles are almost perfectly done – lift the lid and dot your flag ingredients on top. You may need to squish the fruit in a tad. Then spray with a bit of greasing oil so they don’t stick. Press the waffle iron back down for just enough time to “cook” the fruit and “melt” the cream cheese into the waffles. This took me only a few seconds.
4. Plate your waffles. Serve with maple syrup, whipped cream or even some a scoop of ice cream for a dessert treat!
