11 Flaky, Savory Scones To Make Today!

When you hear “scones,” you typically think sweet – something to have at breakfast or brunch, or with an afternoon cup of tea. But scones – which are a close cousin to biscuits – can go savory too. The tender, flaky dough is the perfect vehicle for your favorite cheeses, herbs, and spices, and these savory versions make a delicious accompaniment to a hearty bowl of soup or chili, or even a green salad.

Scones are also a great “starter” for beginning bakers, as there are no special skills or fancy equipment needed. Simply pat the dough into a circle or square, and cut into your desired shapes.

Doesn’t a warm, flaky scone sound perfect right about now?
