For those of you who missed it last year, tonight is your chance to catch the Academy Award-nominated documentary Food, Inc. It airs at 9 p.m. on PBS, in celebration of Earth Day. (Check local listings.) All the biggies are featured — Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Micahel Pollan (Omnivore’s Dilemma) as well as the little guys — the American farmers struggling to make a decent, ethical living while fighting not the elements, but a few dominating corporations. Last year, right when it came out, it seemed to be the only thing people were talking about for a good long stretch. I have a feeling it will trigger a fresh new wave of that. As well as a fresh new wave of outrage. But this time, in conjunction with the PBS airing, the Food Inc filmmakers have also come up with some actionable advice so we’re not all sitting around getting angry. Check out their 10 Simple Things You Can Do to change your diet and change the food system.
