In the film Ratatouille, we get an up-close look at what day-to-day life can be like for a chef; also, rats. One thing we learn is that while chefs are fantastic at churning out plate after plate of delicious food, they might not ever have the time to actually sit down and eat any of these great meals. And to all of us parents out here, this is a familiar predicament. When family life is hectic, healthy meals can be tough to swing.

Enter the fruit smoothie. This cool and creamy sip features fresh apples and protein-packed Greek yogurt, not to mention a touch of real vanilla bean for big, dessert-worthy flavor.

French Vanilla Apple Smoothies

French Vanilla Apple Smoothies
serves 6

1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
1 medium-sized banana
1 cup chopped apple
¾ cup orange juice
1 ¼ cup ice cubes
4 inch section of vanilla bean, halved

Add the yogurt, banana, apple, juice, and ice to your blender. Scrape the seeds from the vanilla pod into the blender. Cover and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
