Have you ever tried a homemade frozen yogurt recipe? Going homemade means you can cut way back on sugar, and stuff your recipe full of wholesome, healthy ingredients. You can also go a little crazy in the flavor department –– I love playing with unique flavor combinations.
A few weeks ago, I found myself with a surplus of gorgeous, fresh raspberries at hand and inspiration struck. While raspberries are often sweet, they can also be pretty tart, so I thought a stint in the oven might be a great way to deepen the flavor of the berries, while adding hints of caramelization. And guess what? It worked out beautifully. For complexity, I added just a hint of sweet and sour balsamic vinegar. The vivid pink results were brimming with rich raspberry notes and the brightness of really great yogurt. (Note: a bit of bittersweet shaved chocolate for serving is an absolute must!)
