Fruit-Cake Kebab

My daughter’s best friend will not touch fruit but this little invention got her to eat three entire strawberries over the weekend. The little cubes stuck on the skewers are Entenman’s vanilla pound cake, which apparently is her favorite. (I don’t usually have pound cake lying around but the a story in Everyday Food last month on inspired things to do with pound made me…inspired.) I gave her an ultimatum: She had to eat the treats in order, from top to bottom on the skewer, which meant for every little piece of cake she had to eat about two pieces of fruit. And she did it. Her mother didn’t believe me.
