Get Your Kids to Brush and Rinse!

By Brooke McLay |

Our summertime schedule has kept us hopping. I toted the kids to a bestie’s home last night where we indulged ourselves in a spontaeous family sleepover, simply because we were up too late making s’mores and letting the kids run wild in the woods to have any desire to go home. My son said to me around four ‘o clock in the afternoon today, “Mom, my teeth are slimy. I guess brushing with my finger and a bit of toothpaste last night didn’t quite work.”

Is it wicked to admit I was ever-so-slightly delighted to discover he’d actually remembered to ATTEMPT to brush in the middle of our midnight chaos? Perhaps, but less than impressive, considering the way tooth brushing and proper mouth rinsing SHOULD be looking in my house. With four kids and a crazy-busy schedule, I sometimes forget to help the kids stay on top of their regular mouthcare habits. Which is why I’m digging the Listerine Kids website, with the super fab, free, printable Rewards Calendar.

To help your kids track and get in great oral care habits, to find the printable Listerine Kids calendar, and get tons of great tips on helping kids brush, rinse, and take care of their pearly whites, head on over to ListerineKids.com and check out all their great features.

A heckuva lot better than having your kids brush their teeth with their fingers in the middle of a spontaneous sleepover!

I received products from Johnson & Johnson as part of my participation in the LISTERINE® Kids Cavity-Free School Year Program. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own. Click here to see more of the discussion.

I know that monthly chart is supposed to encourage kids to brush their teeth, but do we really need it?…shouldn’t our kids be brushing every single day? Maybe try a chart and list out reasons why your kid should brush their teeth would be a better idea.
