This easy Sweet Tahini Dressing is probably my most-made salad dressing. It is my go-to recipe for adding loads of flavor and creaminess to almost any grain or veggie salad in a flash. The perky flavors are sweet and zesty with peppery garlic undertones. Plus my husband interestingly enough loves anything smothered in tahini flavors – even big bowls of healthy salad. So I give this my husband-approved rating. This dressing is especially yummy tossed with chopped raw or steamed kale, slaw salads and brown rice with steamed veggies. Creamy and dairy free too!..
Sweet Tahini Dressing
makes about 3/4 cup
2 Tbsp tahini
2 Tbsp grade B maple syrup
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tsp oil (optional)
1 small lemon, juiced
1/2 tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
note: be sure you stor your tahini well – you want a thin pourable tahini. If your tahini is overly dried up or chalky you will need to add in some oil to loosen it up.
1. Briskly stir all the ingredients together – and serve!
* Make sure your tahini is well stirred to a pourable liquid state – but also not too thin.
* Add the liquid a little bit at a time if you want a really thick dressing – and taste as you go. You can easily customize the flavor to be a little bie “sweet” “zesty” or “creamy – bitter” – whichever you prefer
